	Vetmedin Tablets are for the treatment of congestive heart failure in dogs.
	Key Features: Increases the ability of the heart to pump blood. Vetmedin opens up the blood vessels taking blood to and away from the heart, thereby lowering the pressure on the heart and reducing the work the heart has to do to pump blood around the dog's body. Reduces stress on the heart muscle. Vetmedin has a direct effect on the heart muscle, helping it to beat stronger and pump blood more efficiently. Intended to increase life expectancy in dogs with heart failure.
As the first of a new class of heart treatments termed Inodilators, Vetmedin has been shown to significantly improve the clinical signs and extend the life expectancy in dogs with congestive heart failure. When using Vetmedin you should see improvements in some of the common signs and symptoms of heart failure: less coughing increased energy improved appetite less likely to have laboured breathing or fainting
Doseage and Administration: Use as directed by your veterinarian. Vetmedin tablets should be given to your dog on an empty stomach, twice a day - ideally in the morning and at night (about 12 hours apart). If necessary, Vetmedin can be hidden in a tasty treat.
Active Constituents: Pimobendan 5mg per tablet
Safety: Do not give to animals with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, aortic stenosis, or any other condition where an increase in cardiac output is not recommended. Do not give this medication to dogs less than 6 months of age. Do not give this medication to pregnant or lactating animals.
